Data Management

New data management tools allow project teams on smaller sites to realize the benefits of maintaining data in a relational database. The ability to sort, query, post, and plot data without leaving the field supports dynamic investigation strategies. With a modest amount of training, most members of the project team can learn how to carry out the basic functions on the DSTs presented on this page.

2 GeoSEM uses several GIS vector and raster file formats: DOD vector product format (VPF) , ESRI product files, CAD drawings (dxf), ASCI II grids, and georeferenced image formats such as geoTIFs, bitmaps, GIFs, JPGs, and ERDAS.
