Monitoring optimization is concerned with increasing efficiency, reducing cost, identifying uncertainty, and/or increasing reliability of long-term monitoring programs.
- Data Quality Objectives — Guidance documents regarding Data Quality Objectives (DQO) from EPA, AFCEE, and DoD, and case studies based on those guidance documents.
- Long-Term Monitoring — Lists the references on Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) from EPA, AFCEE, and DoD, and case studies based on those guidance documents.
- Well Placement and Sampling Frequency — Lists the documents and case studies on optimizing monitoring well locations, and spatial density and temporal frequency of sampling.
- Optimized Field Sampling Procedures — Discusses the selection of optimized field sampling procedures, including sampling equipment, without reducing the quality or effectiveness of the LTM program.
- Contaminants of Concern and Indicator Parameters — Discusses the determination of the proper Contaminants of Concern to be sampled, and the use of indicator parameters to reduce the number of parameters analyzed.
- Data Management and Data Evaluation — Discusses the methods and processes that can be used to manage and evaluate the LTM data.
